I currently work as a school counselor. I'm certified to teach at the elementary school level, and I've been an early intervention teacher for students in second grade, first grade, and kindergarten. My tutoring experience includes helping high school students and middle school students who were struggling to learn math, and I've taken many students from failing to meeting standards. I also like to help students become better readers, including literacy and comprehension. I believe students learn best when abstract concepts are made real for them and explained in ways that they can understand. I do whatever I can to relate concepts to things students enjoy and to present information at their level. In my spare time, I enjoy outdoor activities, playing with my pets, and dance, particularly ballet.
